It's that time again, I'm going to share some of many pictures that didn't make it into either part of chapter 22.  This chapter really was wrapping up Eddie's plot, and starting to lay the foundations of Bertie and Stuart's story.  There was also a lot of gameplay in it, since, well it's about time generation five became teenagers. ;)

About 80 pics for you. :) )

So that's the out-takes for this chapter, I hope you liked them.  I'm starting work on the spare story for Lysander and Rosalind next, but I don't want the gap between this chapter and 23 to be as big as the gap between 21 and 22, so hopefully it will be only a few months until we're back in Regalton.

So the lovely [info]dgjamie has tagged me to do this meme, since you don't actually know all that much about me, and I'm currently putting off doing the house work, I thought, why not. :D

A. List ten habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag ten people to do the same. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it." And if I tag you, you're obliged to go through with this.

1)  I'm not a naturally creative person.  I dabbled in music (clarinet) and art before turning to writing, and although I was able to reach a better than mediocre standard in both, it was because I worked my arse off at it, not due to any innate talent.  Writing comes easier to me, and although I still work damn hard to improve my work, it's not been as difficult as music or art.

2)  I'm very tenacious.  I rarely give up on anything, and will keep working on it until I'm satisfied.  This is why I want to fix that damn mesh.

3) This one will come as no surprise to you all.  I'm a history buff, especially social history.  My favourite ancient civilisation is the ancient Egyptians, my favourite modern era is the Victorian era.

4) I've lived in my home town all my life.

5) I graduated from university with a 2:1 in Tourism Management in 2002.

6)  Up until the upper sixth, I'd wanted to study law and become a solicitor, but I found out at a career seminar my school held that in order to practise law, I'd need to do a post-graduate course, that I wouldn't get any financial assistance for and would be way too much for me to be able to afford without assistance.

7)  I chose my degree course because it looked varied and interesting, and I didn't know what else to do.  It was varied, and parts were interesting.  The essay I got my highest mark for was on how the changing social climate of the 19th century affected the development of the British seaside resorts.   It's thanks to that essay that Simmouth is built around a spa, and contains an art gallery and public library.

8) I'm a science and engineering nerd.  I love machines, especially cars and old planes.  Can't tell you why, but I do.

9) I have very eclectic taste in music.  I'll listen to everything from swing to pop to rock to metal.  The only music I don't really like is dance.

10) I started to go grey at 20.  It's all mum's fault, she went grey early too. :P  Having said that, my grey still isn't too bad, and is only noticeable when I have my hair in certain styles.

Umm, I don't think I'm going to tag anyone per se, just whoever wants to do this, can. :)

I am delighted to have another chapter of the legacy ready for you after seven months.  Possibly not the best chapter I've ever written, but I'm happy to be writing the family again.

Comments over at Boolprop as normal please.

I thought I'd check in here with a  progress report.  I've still not made a start on the comments I owe at Boolprop.  For some reason I just can't get motivated to do it, but I have loved every update I've read recently, so if I normally comment on your story, please know I did enjoy and will try to get round to commenting soon.

As for the next chapter of the legacy, it's definitely going to be a 2 parter.  I've written just under half of the first part, and sorted for most fo the rest.  I do need to do a tiny bit of shooting for it, but I'm well on the way to getting it done.  Hopefully it won't be too long until it is published.  I'll then be sorting the second part and seeing what else I need for that.  It really is great fun to be writing the next chapter and moving the story forwards again, but I think I might be getting a bit too verbose.  The first part is way longer than an exchange chapter used to be, and I'm probably putting too much in, but there are several important scenes I had to put in as well as character scenes and linking scenes, so, well, hopefully you won't find it boring.

Oh and as an extra, this si something that Ori posted on her LJ, and I thought I'd write down my goals here too.

What are YOUR Sims2/Sims3 related goals/plans/ideas for 2010? )

Happy New Year everyone!  I wish you all the best for the coming year.

I'm going to start the year by apologising for the fact that I owe quite a few comments over at Boolprop.  My only excuse is that I haven't felt much like commenting, even though I've loved what I've read.  I'm hoping that I'll start to feel more like it soon and get caught up.

What I have been doing is playing.  I'm only a few sim hours away from finishing the rotation in the main house.  After that I've got to play another house and shoot a couple of sims, and then I've got everything I need for the next chapter.  YAY.

Because I've been playing, I have a few things to share with you all.  Most excitingly is the fact that for the first time in about, oh 18 months, the main players of the generation are all teenagers.  I've already shared pics of Bethany and Christopher, but here are the rest.

I managed to find time to get my second idea for this week's [info]sim_scenes  weekly challenge done.  I have to say a huge thank you to Marina for allowing me to use her characters for this.  I could have done it with CAS sims, but it wouldn't have meant as much to me as using this cast.

I also have a few bonus pictures that I think everyone, especially Marina, might enjoy.

Sooo there are times when I have to follow the crowd.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

Last month I set [info]lauriempress's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Thursday I gave [info]regacylady a Dutch Oven (-10 points). Last Wednesday I bought porn for [info]moonshadowed (10 points). In February I punched [info]widget_sims in the arm (-10 points). In June I ruled Canada as a kind and benevolent dictator (700 points).

Overall, I've been nice (624 points). For Christmas I deserve a toy train!

Sincerely,
dicreasy

I'm really not sure why giving someone a Dutch Oven results in negative points, but there you go. :/

I've been completely anti-social today working on this idea for this week's [info]sim_scenes  challenge.  It went through a couple of changes as I realised I was trying to do too much and the narrative was suffering as a result.  This is the finished idea.

I believe in Father Christmas. )

As always I could have done with a couple extra pics to round it off, but it seems to work and I think it's sweet, I hope you all do too.  Now I also have another idea for these prompts, but no promises on getting that one done. ;)

(Also the fact that the formatting seems to be completely effed up on LJ and this is the second post I've had to go back into and reformat after posting, seriously pissing me off).

Hmmm
So my attempt at playing and getting everything done I wanted to in game yesterday was thwarted by my game continually crashing on A&A's lot. It's still crashed a couple of times today and I don't know if that is because of something on the lot, or the fact that my graphics card is having an issue at the moment and I'm waiting on a replacement to arrive, or if my computer can't cope with the beast of a lot now it is surrounded by more buildings. Anyway, I have finally managed to get done what I wanted to there, and part of it involves me changing my plans for Alexandra.

2 piccies )

End of my picspam for the moment.  I have an heir to teen, and some Xmas pics to sort through, so you might get a bit more over the coming days.  I do like this playing lark.

Yet again, I've written far too much for the comments. I admit, I'm not completely happy with this. I'm not sure I've got everything I wanted to get across, across, and parts of it seem clumsy and/or irrelevant. In fact, this is more like a first draft than a finished piece, but I'm not in a writing mood at the moment really.

Anyway, I hope you like it.

Wow, this playing malarky means I actually have pictures to share with you all. I've been meaning to share some of these for the past 2 weeks, so there are lots of them I'm afraid, and I apologise to those of you with slower connections.

LOTS of piccies (100+) )

i still have a few days to play in the rotation before I'm able to get to the main house, but for now, this is it. Lots of pictures for you, and I'm sorry the captions were so uninspired. I really must post more, smaller picspams rather than leave it to one big post. Anyway, that's what I've been doing in the game. I hope you enjoyed it.

I really do talk far too much at times, so I'm really not surprised that this is over the character limit. Anyway, here's my drabble for the prompt "Hell is gone and heaven's here/There's nothing left for you to fear" ("Let Me Entertain You" - Robbie Williams)
