Learning something new
One of the many, many things that's stopping me from playing at the moment, is the thought that I am going to need many, many more pieces of clothing as the legacy goes on.  This wasn't so much of a problem earlier on, when I hadn't used a lot of the clothing I have, or when my sims were more sims than characters, but as I've gone on, I've started wanting individual and unique pieces of clothing for my main sims.  This really came home to me the other day when I was playing around with looks for one of Bertie and Sophia's twins the other day, and I realised I'm going to need to make her new dresses for her, for all of her life stages.  In the past, I've tended to just nick bits and pieces from clothing that I already have and mash them together, but I really want to be able to make clothes properly.  Heget posted this tutorial over at PBK (you need to be logged in to view it I think) a while ago, and I started trying to follow it, but then forgot about it.  Well, I've decided to give it a go again.

This is what I have so far:

And here is what it looks like on the mesh in Milkshape:

Tut 1
Tut 3
Tut 2

Tut 4

I'm really pleased with how it's looking so far, and once it's finished, I'm hoping it'll look good, and that it'll give me to confidence to make more clothing as I need it.

Ooh! I don't know anything about making clothes, but that's looking very pretty. Good luck on getting it done! :)

Echoing katrisims: I know nothing other than that looks really good and I can't wait to see the finished product!

Thank you. I'm pleased with it, and it's starting to look just like what I want. Of course once I start colouring it, that might change, but for now, it's good.

That tutorial looks pretty good. I think that's a great start to the dress, and I can't wait to see what it's like all colored. :)

I've definitely learnt quite a few tricks from it, and what's particularly nice is that it's a tutorial for PSP rather than PS, so I don't have to search the menus looking for a tool which does the same thing, but is called something slightly different.

I just need to start deciding what trim I want on it, and how to do the cuffs, and then I can start looking at how to colour it and add some patterns to the materials.

It looks great so far.

Thank you, I'm feeling very pleased with it.

Ohh! very nice! I especially like the buttons in the front. I can't wait to see how you color it!

Thanks. The buttons are actually off of a men's shirt I have, but they look really good as the front of the fake shirt.

Ooh! That looks very pretty. I don't have the foggiest idea how to do that sort of thing; I'm very impressed! I can hardly wait to see the finished product.

Thank you. I'm thinking about trims and patterns for the fabric at the moment, but I haven't really worked on since I posted this. I am pleased with how it's turning out though.

You impress the Hades out of me, did you know that?

I impress myself at times. I can't believe how well it's turning out. :)
