Happy Bonfire Night!
*waves* Hello everyone, happy Guy Fawkes Night. I'm afraid I don't have a Bonfire Bash for you all this year, in fact it's the first year I've been playing this neighbourhood I've not done one. So there's no Stuart and Bertie traipsing round the village asking for a penny for the Guy, no Christopher using one of Anthony's dress shirts to make his Guy, and no gathering of legacy sims in my simself's back garden, watching Indy and Connor run around lighting fireworks and laughing when they go off in their faces.  Of course that also means that there is no me watching Connor and Vicky like a hawk (they have only 2 bolts, but with 19 outgoing points between them, they have a tendency to not leave each other alone when they are on the same lot.  I'm waiting for one of other of them to do an inappropriate hug, or back rub.  *looks at Connor*), so maybe it's not all bad. ;)

The reason I've not done one, is the same reason I've not really been around that much the past couple of weeks: I've not had the energy.  Work has been insane the past two and a half weeks.  I had nearly a full week's worth of work to catch up with after my week off, and then someone else went on holiday within two days of me getting back, so I had to take on some of her work too.  This week, everything has caught up with me and I've been completely wiped in the evenings and not feeling up to chatting or answering many posts.  I promise I will make time to catch up on the comments I owe on stories because I loved them and I want to let you all know, it just won't be right away.

I've still been working on the second part of the interlude, but because I'm so tired, it's going very, very slowly.  Last night I managed to get 9 shots in the bag despite the game being open for about 3 hours.  Go me!  I am now about halfway through shooting the story pictures, but I have the credits still to do, and want to polish the words.  I was hoping to have it done for this weekend, but that is so not going to happen.  Maybe next weekend?  Maybe not?  I don't know, but I am working on it.

To prove I'm working on it, and in lieu of Bonfire pictures, I have a couple of sneak peeks for you all.  Click on the pictures to make them bigger.

I Hope everyone else is ok, and hopefully I'll be a bit more visible soon.

It looks as though it's going to be worth the wait! I understand. I'm absolutely slammed at work, too.

I hope it will be worth it. It was kicking my arse last night, I know that much.

Oh no, it's horrible isn't it? Being so busy just makes everything feel like an effort I find. I hope things ease up for you soon.

Well, for us, it's partly the furloughs. Let's say I have a deadline I didn't know about last week, and it gets moved up a day: it was supposed to be due on the 11th, but now it's due on the 10th. But the 9th is a furlough day, so I can't come on campus to get a signature. That means I have got to do it today, whatever it is.

I just spent a big part of last night whamming together a multiple-page proposal because of this kind of situation, and it's not the first time.

That's just crap. We don't have furloughs over here, (or if we do, I've never come across them) so I don't fully understand them. It sounds though like you are being prevented from doing your job, because you aren't meant to be working, but you're still working because you have things you need to get done.

That's insane.

Ehehehe, CONNOR.

It looks like Celly is hurt. There best be some hurtin' on the ones who hurt my Celly.

Dean joins up with the Legacys!

You know, it occurs to me that when I think of Victorian Archie, I think of him as a sort of grubby teenage guttersnipe, and not as an adult. Maybe that's why he doesn't lend himself to grown-up clothes.

Anyway, looking forward to the finale!

The really funny thing with Connor and Vicky is that in the dummy hood, where they've mostly interacted, they cannot have a civil conversation to save their lives, but that didn't stop them going from 0 to 100 daily in about 6 sim hours when I left them to their own devices. They'll have a bad conversation, but then turn round and start talking again, or play red hands or whatever. I'm starting to wonder if I should see what happens with them and if a plot bunny evolves.

Don't worry, the future holds a serious arse-kicking for the man who hit your daughter.

I had to have Dean meet up with gen 5, and it's a blast. He is not the best influence on some of them, let me tell you.

I can totally see that, Archie is much better suited to that than being an adult there. I've got him wearing the same outfit as the Steampunk in the inn bar, because that outfit is the closest I have to having the Swagger. It's not perfect, but it's better than a three piece suit.

EXCITEMENT.

Your offerings are a worthy substitute for bonfires! And no worries about being quiet, that happens sometimes. Hang in there!

Also, you should try to make it to AIM some nights. We have shinies.

MAGIC BOX OF PEOPLE!!

Hehe it's so nice to see everyone's excitement, it makes me want to get on with the shooting.

I thought I'd better offer a bit of picspam, and whet your appetites. ;)

I'm feeling better today actually. I've gotten caught up on quite a bit, so hopefully I will be around more. That includes on AIM. Ive not really been on it in aaaaaages, but I like shinies and once I'm back doing my normal rotation, hopefully I'll be there more, because I won't be trying to get things written and done.

Poor Di, that sounds exhausting :( Here's hoping work picks up soon for you!

Happy Bonfire Niiiiight! I hope you got to see some pretty boommy-bangs, I just got back from a display and it was fab :) ..Except for when everyone remebered they were in Essex and decided to blow stuff up when all the fireworks were gone.

Exciting pictures! But sore Celly? NOOOOOO!!
Di[info]dicreasy on November 6th, 2009 06:38 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I've been very exhausted, but I am feeling a bit better today, and it's Friday, so I've got two days off now, yay.

I didn't got o see any fireworks, but I could hear the display at Hatfield House, even if I couldn't see it. I might have a look see if there are any about this weekend. Unfortunately I can believe that people started setting fire to other stuff, I've got a feeling the Hatfieldites might have done the same. :(

Poor Celly, but there will be retribution for the man who hit her. *nods*

CAN. NOT. WAIT.

No seriously. I can't wait. Is it up now? Howabout now. Okay. I'll hang on. Now?

:)
Di[info]dicreasy on November 6th, 2009 06:39 pm (UTC)
Not quite yet I'm afraid...

Seriously, knowing that you are all looking forward to this, makes me want to get on and shoot more of it. Given how I've been feeling the past few days, that is a very good thing.
docnerd[info]docnerd on November 6th, 2009 03:07 am (UTC)
Also, I believe I am now 'shipping Celly/Derri. He just looks so concerned for her!
Di[info]dicreasy on November 6th, 2009 06:47 pm (UTC)
You're not the only one.

This generation, more than even the previous one, I want to find really special sims for everyone. Both Derri and Ivan seem to developed sweet spots for Celly, but Derri more, so he may be finding himself added to the real neighbourhood.
Lea[info]leaths on November 6th, 2009 04:12 am (UTC)
It sucks that work is wearing you out right now. I hope things slow down soon. I hope you are back around soon. I can't wait for part 2. Well, I can, because I have to, but I'm excited for it. :)
Di[info]dicreasy on November 6th, 2009 06:54 pm (UTC)
I've got a lot caught up today, which has really made me feel better. I'm all raring to go and start doing some shooting now.

I hate not feeling up to chatting in the evenings. I love being part of this community, and knowing all of you lot, you're my friends for a reason, so finding being at the keyboard a chore, makes me really sad, which exacerbates the situation.

Yay for excitement, excitement is good. :)
swhedonberry[info]swhedonberry on November 6th, 2009 06:35 pm (UTC)
I could definitely see a shipment of Celly/Derri. *giggles* And Dean causing trouble...NEVER!! ;)

Oh, I so can't wait to see what happens next.
Di[info]dicreasy on November 6th, 2009 07:02 pm (UTC)
They are very sweet together, I must admit. Derri might very well find himself added to the main neighbourhood so I can see what happens. If things work out with them I would be very happy.

Dean is being such a bad influence on my simmies, but they're not complaining. Actually it's more he does the things they think about, so they now do them, if that makes sense. It's been a lot of fun anyway, thanks again for letting me borrow the two boys. ;)
