So, I woke up to an email from Photobucket stating that after a change to their terms and conditions, they no longer allow you to use their free account for third party hosting (which, really?  What did they think people on the internet used image hosting sites for?), and wanting me to upgrade to a paid account.  This paid account costs $399.99 a year, or roughly £310.  Yeah.  No.

Not only do I not have a spare £310, I wouldn't spend it on a hobby I've all but given up anyway.  I probably have backups of some of my newer pictures and my download previews, but I also have some horrible shit happening in my life at the moment, and therefore have neither the time nor the inclination to find them, get a new image hosting account, upload them and redo all of the links, so I'm afraid that for the foreseeable future, all pictures will remain broken.

I think that most of my uploads have previews included in the downloads, so there's that.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused, but like I say, thanks to Photobucket and their exorbitant pricing for the foreseeable future, the pictures will remain broken.

Ok, so I know it's the best part of two years since I posted anything to the Emporium, or over here, buuuuuut I do have a bunch of random defaults to share.  Click the header thing to go over there and see what they are.

Hi everyone.  I know I don't post here very often any more, but thought that I'd still do my now annual tradition of pointing and laughing at my previous year's simming goals before making some more.  In many ways, I was more successful in my real life goals (such as deciding I was unhappy with my size, so vowing to lose 42 pounds in a year, and losing 33 of those in six months), than with my simming goals, but here we go anyway.

2014's simming goals:

1) Have fun simming. Strangely, given how quiet I've been, I've done this in a funny little way.  It's just that how I've done this, is by mostly stopping playing.  I'm spending most of my time at the moment making CC, and that's working for me.  I'm enjoying picking projects up as I feel like working on them, and then putting them down again.
2) Build Simford. I finished the lot I was working on, and that's about it.  I've been more focussed on making CC, and also starting work on revamping Simdon to put the effort into getting Simford finished.
3) Play the game without thinking about my story. Done this.
4) Not think or stress about the story. Again, I've done this.  I still don't feel like working on it, but I'm happier, and so that works at the moment.
5) Continue and hopefully finish, reorganising and seasonifying all of the shrubs and plants I have in game. HAHAHAHAHA.  NO.
6) Try to come back to the community and my friends. Again, no.  As much as I miss everyone, (and I do, a lot), I'm still feeling happier being able to dip in and out of the community and the game like I've been doing this year.

Ok, so that's last year's goals done.  Let's make some for this year.

2015's Simming Goals.

1) Sort and cull my CC. I've been seeing a lot of strangeness lately if I do try to play, and I think that a lot of this is to do with the amount of CC I currently have.  Also, a lot of the CC I've accumalated over the past 7 to 8 years, now looks very dated, is broken or just doesn't meet my standards or aesthetic any more, so it's time to cull.
2) Make over Regalton and the subhoods to meet my standards.  This goes along with the above really.  I'm going to have to replace things that I've culled, and since I've already started making over Simdon to look better, I may as well do that for the rest of the subhoods.
3) Make more progress with Simford. It'd be nice to get this subhood looking more like a little town, and less like a serious of random lots with lots of empty space between them.
4) Make a start on building the Highlands. I've been planning on having the Highlands as another holiday hood for years, and I think it's about time I made a start on it.
5) Have fun. Doesn't really need any explanation I feel.
6) Try to say "hi" more often. Because I do miss you all.

Hey everyone.  Since I didn't want to spam everyone, I've not been posting all of the entries I've been making for the Victoria & George undergarment community project here, but I've now finished my contribution and wanted to post and index to this journal for anyone who has missed them, but wants them.

Index under here.Collapse )

Long time, no post.  :)  I'm doing well, and still simming, if not as much as I was, and what I am sharing/posting, I'm tending to do over on tumblr because it's so much easier to post pictures there, than here and I've gotten very lazy.  Having said that, I have a couple of posts I'm planning on making here, but in the meantime, I've posted a new object over at the Emporium.  Click the picture to go to the download.

This house over at MTS was built to the same plan I used for A&A's house.  It's very interesting to see the differences in how we interpreted it.  You can see A&A's house by clicking on the picspam: smith and picspam: simdon tags.

(Also, yes, hello.  I'm not dead.  I just managed to burn myself out completely on the sims and haven't really recovered yet.  I hope to be back and a bit more active here soon, since I would like to share some of the things I'd been doing with my game before I hit burn out with you all, but in the meantime, I've posted a few bits to my simblr in the past few months, rather than here).

I was in the main neighbourhood grabbing pictures for the previews for the elder undies, when I had the urge to play.  And well, there was a double birthday.

Here's a little something I've made for the V&G community project, and because I need more period appropriate under things for my sim girls.  Click the picture to go to the Emporium.

So, I don't know if the hub/Hasbro are cracking down, if it's the new Youtube copyright policies and flagging system, or what, but it is turning out to be really, really difficult to find this season to watch on Youtube.  And of course, it's also not available to buy on the UK itunes store, only the US one and changing stores is a pain in the arse.  Blah.  I think I may have found a channel with them on, so fingers crossed it has all the ones I've not seen yet.  I'm quite a few weeks behind.
I shared a 100 followers gift over on my tumblr here for those of you who have not seen it yet.   It's a little something that I think a lto of people might get use out of.

I have so many ideas of things I want to make lately, it's ridiculous.  I've been making new objects practically non-stop in my simming time, to decorate the lot I'm working on for Simford, and I'm pretty sure, I'm going to keep making new things as I work on building the rest of the town.  I also have ideas for 14 (!) new clothing meshes, 9 of which are for the V&G community project,  that I'm going to start on when I next feel like doing body meshes.  (I'm still a little burnt out with that aspect of cc creating from the gifts I made for the V&G gift pile.)  Plus I want to add some hats to the hairs of my most important sims, such as Eddie and Emmi, aaaand I want to have a go again at making some salt and pepper hairs.  It didn't go too well last time, but I've been watching this request over at GoS with interest and since Esotheria_D. has very kindly shared their PSD, I'm feeling a little inspired and may see what I can do with it.  Plus there's my on going projects, such as making everything seasonal (and since theChangeling shared some gorgeous plants last week, I'm now itching to make those seasonal and add them to my game too), project mesh where I fix all the things that annoy me about the clothing meshes in my game, and items I want to look at recolouring just because.   I've also failed at fixing the issue with the custom barber chair, and so default replaced the mesh instead, which looks awesome and actually works.  I'm thinking of putting it up for testing in the next couple of days to make sure everything is alright with it before I share it, possibly with the barber bits I separated off a Cashcraft mesh a couple of years ago.

So yes, when I'm simming, I'm on a real creating and building kick at the moment, rather than playing.  It's fun, but it does mean I'm still getting no where with my story or legacy.

I've been doing some more building in Simford, and as part of that, I've been building a shoemakers/shop.  This of course has meant that I've been making more CC for it.  Click the picture above to go to the Emporium and see the details.

Happy New Year everyone.  I hope that 2014 is being good to you so far.

As I always do, I was planning on looking back at last year's goals and sharing my goals for this year, but when I went to look at last years, the post was missing.  I'm sure I made some, but I can't find the post.  'Tis most vexing.

Anyway, here are my goals for 2014:

1) Have fun simming.  I've actually spent far longer than I want to admit to myself, viewing simming as a chore, or something I am doing because I'm too bloody-minded to give up and stop.  There was a time when I really loved this game, when I played without pressure, and I'm going to try to get back to that, before I decide whether or not to just stop simming.
2) Build Simford.  I've been working on this for the past few weeks, and it is something I'm currently sorta enjoying.  I'm also making a shedload of cc to go decorate the buildings with, and again, all linked to the first goal, I'm only doing it if I feel like it, and trying not to feel pressured about it.
3) Play the game without thinking about my story.  I've done several things that I thought would help me with this, and they've not really worked, because the thought of my story was always there.  I'm going to try to get past that.  If I fall in love with my sims as sims and characters again, then maybe I'll fall in love with my story and writing again.  Which leads to ...
4) Not think or stress about the story.  I'm not abandoning it completely.  I do want to finish the storyline I've started, but it's also been stressing me out like nobody's business.  The thought of writing it, the thought of editing it, the thought of shooting it and then reading everyone's reactions is killing me.  So I'm not going to think about it.  I'll pick it up if and when I can approach it with a better frame of mind.
5) Continue and hopefully finish, reorganising and seasonifying all of the shrubs and plants I have in game.
6) Try to come back to the community and my friends.  I miss you, I really do, but I've also not been up to socialising very much recently.  I hope that will pass.

I've finally finished my gift for the V&G gift pile.  You can find it over here. Enjoy.

*waves* Hello.  I know I've been pretty much absent lately, but I'm not dead.  I haven't however, been doing any writing.  I've not written a word since August, and although I hoped that Myshuno! would kickstart me, it hasn't.  I just don't feel like writing at the moment, and if I do feel like maybe jotting some things down, by the time I grab a notepad, or open Word, the feeling's gone.  So I have no idea when the next chapter will be out, which really, really was not my intention when I posted the last chapter.  I had such high hopes as to getting back into the habit of posting regularly and getting to the next generation, and it has just not happened, and doesn't look like happening soon.  I'm hesitant to put the legacy on hiatus, because if I do that, I can see me never getting back to it, the way I feel at the moment, so I'm not doing that.  I'm just working on it at a very, very slow pace.

I've been playing a lot of other games recently.  I finished the first part of the Burial at Sea DLC for Bioshock Infinite, and although it is still very, very flawed, I have to say the story was better for this one than the main game.  Or at least, it took me by surprise, possibly because there was less times to drop hints at the player, so although I was sure there was something going on, I didn't know what until it happened.

I've also been working my way through the Assassin's Creed games, and now I want to build SimFlorence, which is a problem given the fact that I've got so many other subhoods to finish.

Oh yes.  I am still simming, even if I'm not writing.  I played a semester at one of the uni houses last week, and I've been working on some meshing projects for my V&G gift pile gift as well as the community project and my own use.  I think I've made 7 new meshes in the past few weeks, and I now just need to work on the retextures, which are my least favourite parts of clothing creation.  I've also been doing a bit of building, and the railway station in Simford is nearly finished now, I'm just pulling my hair out over crap EA mapping whilst trying to recolour a painting to make a sign.  Really EA, it should be easy to recolour this, but no, you had to split the picture bit into 3 pieces which are completely disconnected, didn't you?  I've been sharing a few pics of it over at my tumblr, because it's so easy to share pictures there.

Umm, that's it basically.  I'm not dead, and I hope that you are all doing well.
I've updated the Emporium with an offering for the V&G community project.  Toddler undies.

Afternoon everyone.  V&G will be hosting a gift pile again this year, and I've made the announcement post here for anyone interested in contributing.

Happy Hallowe'en everyone!

Look, I did a photoshoot, for the first time in three years!  Actually, I have to admit that this nearly didn't get done, since the outfits I originally downloaded just will not show in game, and I lost interest when trying to refit them.  But never mind, new idea was born, and here we are!  A little shoot with the main part of my family, and a little spoiler for you all.

I've finally gotten round to re-doing the fire surround I've been using in my kitchens for a while now.

I've also uploaded the items I made for a GoS theme to the Emporium  Find them here.
For the past six or seven weeks, I've been working on default replacing the preparable meals in game with things that are more appropriate for my game era.  i'm finally finished and have uploaded them for anyone else who is interested at the Emporium.  Click the picture below for details.
